Join BVGT for a book study of Raising Gifted Children: A Practical Guide for Parents Facing Big Emotions and Big Potential (Rockridge Press, 2021) with the author, local counselor Catherine Zakoian.

Meetings will take place Sundays, January 26 and February 2, 2025 at 12:30-2:30pm at the Meadows Branch Library in Boulder. Participants must be able to attend both meetings. Preference is given to those who did not attend last year’s book study with Ms. Zakoian.

Participants are asked to purchase and read the text prior to attending, and bring their questions for discussion. Books can be purchased or ordered wherever books are sold (including Amazon).
Topics covered may include: domains and characteristics of giftedness; hidden twice exceptionalities; dynamics of gifted families; understanding and working with gifted intensity, empathy, and perfectionism; parenting practices to support healthy parent and child relationship; gifted child and family development; and Dabrowski’s Theory of Positive Disintegration.
